Tommy Earl Taylor

Tommy was born on April 1, 1957, in Columbus, Texas, to Marion and Dorothy (Smith) Taylor. During his childhood, he spent a great deal of time with his paternal grandparents, Tommy and Minnie Taylor, of La Grange, Texas. Under their loving guidance, he was taught to memorize Bible verses and was often called upon to recite them during church programs, planting the foundation of faith that would remain with him throughout his life.

Tommy received his early education at Riverside Elementary School in Columbus, Texas, and later attended Trail Ridge Junior High School in Lenexa, Kansas. Following the passing of his mother, he returned to La Grange, Texas, where he graduated from La Grange High School in 1975.

After high school, Tommy honorably served his country by enlisting in the United States Army. Upon completing his military service, he returned to La Grange and began a long and dedicated career with La Grange Independent School District, from which he retired after 40 years of faithful service. While employed with the district, he was encouraged to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a mortician. He attended Commonwealth College of Funeral Service in Houston, Texas, graduating with honors in 1983. On April 3, 1985, Tommy was officially registered with the State of Texas as a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer (#8583). Over the past four decades Tommy has used his kind, caring, respectful manner and demeanor to help many families.
