Thelma Ray (White) Glass

On January 18, 1952, Thelma Ray Glass was born to Victor and Mary White in Schulenburg, Texas. Thelma was baptized at an early age at St. James Missionary Baptist Church. She attended J. A. Green and graduated from Schulenburg High School in 1970.

Thelma married the love of her life, Edward, in Los Angeles, CA on February 17. 1973. To this union two children. Tamara and Eric were born.

In 1986, Thelma obtained her cosmetology and barber license and spent 28 years providing salon services at Austin Hair Designs. In 2018 she and Edward joined Resurrection Baptist Church in Schertz, Texas. She was a faithful member until her health began to fail in 2016.

Thelma was called home on July 7, 2022, with her family by her side. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Helen (Manfred) Spencer, Iranell (Clarence) Steward and brothers, Billie Flowers and Victor White, Jr.

Thelma is survived by her devoted husband of 49 years, Edward Glass. Daughter, Tamara (Gaylon)Hyder of Houston, TX and son, Edric (Angela) Glass of Schulenburg, TX; sister, Johnnie (Elroy) Henry of Schertz, TX; brothers, Hermer White of Houston, TX and Ronnie (Marion) White of Houston, TX and a host of nieces and nephews.
