Samuel Daniel Britton, Sr. was born on March 27, 1953, to the late Mary and Samule Britton in New Orleans, Louisiana. He accepted Christ at an early age.
In 1975, Sam moved to La Grange, Texas where he met and married Elvera (Faison) Britton and to this union two sons were born, Samuel Britton, Jr. (Danny) and Stevie Britton.
Later in life Sam joined St. James Missionary Baptist Church in Plum, Texas under the leadership of Pastor Austin Jones. He attended services regularly, until his health began to fail. His faith never wavered, he continued in prayer, listened to and sung along with many gospel hymns.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Samuel Britton; his wife, Elvera Britton; daughter, Ebony Nicole Britton; grandson, Marquis Mullins and nephew, Phillip Davis (Knuckles).
Samuel leaves to cherish his memories, 2 sons, Samuel Britton, Jr. (Ashley) and Stevie Britton both of La Grange, Texas; sister, Jean Davis of New Orleans, Louisiana; grandchildren, Breana, Damarkus, Samone, Jasmine, Izaya, CJ, Christian, Brittany, Jade, Aubrie, Aundre and Sydney. He is also survived by a host of siblings, nieces, nephews, and in-laws from Texas to Louisiana. A brother, Pastor Ron Hunt of La Grange, Texas and a special longtime friend, Brenda Driskill of La Grange, Texas.
