Roger Edward Adolf Warner was born on December 24, 1956, to Ralph E. Warner Sr. and Doris Mae Ferguson (Warner). He was the fifth child born into a well-known and musically inclined family recognized throughout San Antonio for their musical gifts.
At an early age, Roger gave his life to Christ at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in San Antonio, Texas.
Roger began his musical journey singing with gospel groups including Raise of Hope and the Gospel Messengers, sharing his gift through ministry and song. He later continued his musical career with the Legendary Legends of San Antonio, Texas, opening for many Blues and R&B; artists and leaving a lasting impact.
Roger was also a natural comedian, bringing joy and laughter to everyone around him.
He worked in the family business, Ott’s Cleaners and was a true jack of all trades—skilled in carpentry, fixing cars, and repairing anything.
Roger met and married his beloved wife, Thema Warner, sharing over 40 years together filled with love and fishing memories.
Roger transitioned peacefully on March 27, 2026.
Family and Legacy
Roger was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Thema Warner; his parents, Ralph E. Warner Sr. and Doris Mae Ferguson (Warner); his parents William Ferguson Sr. and Maydell Warner; his granddaughter, A’mya; his grandparents, Martha Davis and Cleveland Davis; and his brothers Ralph, Ronnie, Richard, and Rodney Warner; Ricky Thomas; and Vernell Demp.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter Antoinette Rogers and son Jerome Brooks (Nykeshia); two stepdaughters; eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Roger is survived by his siblings: Cassandra Ann Warner (La Grange, Texas), Chaney Marie Johnson (La Grange, Texas), William Ferguson Jr. (Kimberly) (Seattle, Washington), Mark Ferguson (Telicona)(Jacksonville, Florida), Dorothy Maxwell, Cathey Massey, Dolores Demps, Ronnie Thomas Sr., Michael Thomas Sr., Darrel Thomas, Philip Thomas, Karl Thomas, Felin Thomas, Gregory Thomas (San Antonio, Texas); along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
