His Life Journey
Rodney Willis Johnson Sr. was the second child born to late Joe Willie Johnson Jr. and Beatrice Johnson, on May 23, 1972, in Weimar, Texas. He came to Christ at an early age and was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Rodney graduated from Weimar High School in 1990. After High School, he worked at UTEX for a couple of years until his car accident. After years of recovering from the car accident, he went back to work for Dr. Pepper Company, Walmart in LaGrange and Walmart Distribution in Katy, Texas until Rodney health began to fail. Even though his health was failing, Rodney also details cars on the side, and he was known for one of the best detail cleaning car services.
Rodney was known for his loving smile and loving heart. He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents Joe and Erma Johnson Sr, Lavo Binkley Jr. and Juanita Wright and one brother, Calvin Binkley.
Rodney leaves to cherish his love and precious memories his high school sweetheart wife of twenty-nine years, Shalonda Johnson, three sons: Rodney Johnson Jr. (Janet), Devon Johnson and Darius Johnson of LaGrange, Texas, two grandsons, Javier and Damian Johnson, two sisters, Stefanie (Antonio Sr.) Tamez, of Columbus, Texas, Tiffany Johnson of Houston, Texas, two sisters-in-law, Sharonda Dawson of Houston, Texas, Marshone Dobbins of LaGrange, Texas, and one special Goddaughter, Breanna Benford of Houston, Texas, host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
