RAYMOND ARNIT JACKSON was born July 30, 1949, to Robert Murrel and Arnita Jackson. Raymond was the youngest of five children. He dedicated his life to Christ at St. Phillips Missionary Baptist Church. He graduated from Smithville High School in 1966
Raymond was united in marriage to Pearl Minton on June 12th, 1976. Two girls were born from that union and they both captured his heart. For over 48 years he was a devoted husband and father.
In 2005 Raymond became an Ordained Deacon at St. Phillips Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Bobby Bullard. He remained a faithful member until his health started to fail.
Raymond loved being around his family. His hobbies consisted of coaching and umpiring softball. He later discovered a passion for woodworking which continued for over 20 years. The furniture he built was one of a kind and irreplaceable. He also loved playing dominoes and talking smack to whomever sat down to play with him.
Raymond is proceeded in death by his parents, daughter, Tasha Jackson, two brothers, Ira and Jasper Jackson and one sister, Annie Allen.
Raymond leaves to cherish his memories and celebrate his life, his wife, Pearl Jackson, daughter, Tonya Jackson of Austin, TX, one brother, Eylis Jackson of Smithville, TX, two Godsons, Joshua Jackson and Jamarius Mosley, one aunt, Mrs. Millie Jones of San Antonio, TX and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
