Raymond Adams, Jr. was born on January 18, 1950, to Sherman and Helen (Ward) Adams and was raised from birth by his paternal grandparents, Joe and Marzella Adams. He would be affectionately called by several nicknames such as, Baby Jr., Peewee, Junebug and 18-wheeler.
At an early age he was baptized at St. James Missionary Baptist Church. He attended C. E. Green throughout his school-age years from K-12th grade. He resided with his grandmother, Marzella until he decided to move to Houston with his dad Sherman. He was employed for many years in the trucking industry and in his latter years, he was employed by Sledge Paint and Body as an Auto Body Repairman until his retirement in the early eighties.
Raymond is preceded in death by his parents, Sherman and Helen Ward Adams, grandparents, Joe and Marzella Adams, one brother, George Adams, four aunts, Cleo, Leora, Alice and Lucille, four uncles, Sylvester, Felton, Ralph and Joseph, and one cousin, Norma Alice Miller-Azike.
Raymond leaves to cherish his memories, his cousins, Shirley Foat (Barry), Thelma Baines (Patrick). Cassandra Palmer (Everett), Ellis Louis Miller, Jr. (Rachael) all of Houston, TX, siblings, Mary Adams-Green, Marjorie Adams-Davis, Henry Adams, Milton Adams, Alice Adams, Rose McBride and Jerome Ross along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extened family, friends and The Players Club.
