Paul Allan Woodson was born in Weimar, Texas on December 28, 1947, to the late Lesory Woodson and the late Lucresia Dees Woodson. He was the fifth of their six children and went to be with the Lord on November 10, 2025. Paul passed peacefully at home in Houston, Texas at the age of 77.
Paul was a God-fearing man who joined St. Paul United Methodist Church at an early age in Oakland, Texas. He moved to Houston and later joined Jones Memorial United Methodist Church, where he worshiped until his last days. Paul was a faithful member who attended church regularly, spoke fondly of Bishop Levingston, and enjoyed spending time with the congregation.
Paul graduated from Karl Downs School in Weimar, Texas in 1966. After graduating, he attended Job Corp in Salt Lake City, Utah. While in Houston, Paul worked for several companies, including Houston Lightening and Power and Goodman Manufacturing, Inc. He retired from Houston Lightening Power Company after 30 years of employment.
Paul met the love of his life, Blanch Jewel Robinson, and they were married on May 17, 1972. They were the parents of three children, Paul, Terry and Crystal, who were the joy of their lives.
When Paul was young, he was very shy, but he grew into an outgoing and socially amicable man. He was often teased that he was always looking for someone to talk to and had never met a stranger.
Paul was a trusted brother, uncle, cousin, friend, and neighbor who cared deeply for others. He had a great memory and could remember his friends’ birthdays and even the first cars that they owned. He was kind, full of laughter, with an infectious smile. Paul loved new adventures, and his favorite pastime was hunting and fishing. He also loved westerns and watching old movies constantly as a form of enjoyment.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Lesory and Lucresia Woodson, two brothers Lesory Lee Woodson and Marvin L.V. Woodson, one sister Burlene Woodson Brown, and one nephew, Branndon Cornell Jefferson, Sr.
Paul leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Blanch Jewel Woodson, his sons Paul Woodson (Tracey) and Terry Allan Woodson, and daughters Crystal Burlene Woodson and Whitney Bremby, grandsons Jalen Scott, Tre’Paul Woodson, and Taylor Reese Woodson, devoted brother Roy Lee Woodson of Alexandria, Virginia, and loving sister Katie Woodson Jefferson, along with a host of nephews, nieces, relatives, friends and neighbors.
