On April 22, 1940, a baby girl was born to John H. Johnson and Margaret Johnson in Waco, Texas. They named her PATSY. She grew up in Waco, where she attended school. Later in life, she relocated to Columbus, Texas and was a devoted mother to her two sons, Gary and Kevin.
She loved helping people-had a heart for people and began her career in the medical field while attending Wharton Junior College and attained her associate degree and license as an LVN. Helping people was her passion as shown in her work at the Columbus Clinic. Columbus Community Hospital, Rice Medical Center in Eagle Lake, Texas and as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
Patsy was a member of Olive Branch Baptist Church and later joined New Greater Smith Chapel Baptist Church, where she served as an usher and a member of the Women Ministry, as well as the Drama/Play Ministry, where she loved performing at the church, she was also a member of the "Silhouette of Hope" and Ladies Monday Night Bible Study.
Patsy loved gardening and gave the same tender care to it as she extended to everyone. Patsy was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Gary Williams. She will be remembered and cherished by her son, Kevin Gray of Austin, Texas, and her grandson, Hezikah Stewart of Louisiana. And also, a host of loving and caring friends.
