Obituary

Patrick Julian Jakobeit, aged 72 of La Grange, Texas passed away September 2, 2023, in Bastrop, Texas after a long battle with cancer.

​Patrick was born June 19, 1951, in Franklin, Texas to Adolph E. Jakobeit and Adela Mary Mechura. Patrick was an adventurer and world traveler. He never met a stranger and has friends from all walks of life. His faith has always been an important aspect of his life and he participated in ministries to jail inmates, homeless, and other ministries throughout his life.

Patrick is preceded in death by his father, Adolph E. Jakobeit, mother, Adela Mary (Mechura) Jakobeit, brother, Albert A. Jakobeit, sister, Linda K. Prather and brother-in-law, Robert (Bob) Prather.

He is survived by his sister-in-law, Connie Jakobeit, nephews, Charles Jakobeit and wife Kellie, and Robbie Jakobeit, nieces, Frances Swanson and husband Eric, Nora DeBoard, and Shandell Jakobeit-Schubert and husband Kevin as well as numerous great nephews, nieces, and other family members and friends.
