On June 19, 1951, Patrice Ann Anderson (Pat) was born to William Sampson Anderson and Remona Cheeks, nee Woodson.
Patrice was raised by Grandparents Grady Woodson Sr. and Rosezena Woodson (Mama Rosezena) of Weimar, Texas until the 3rd grade. She moved to San Antonio, Texas where her mother and her Aunt Cassie McGrew, nee Woodson (Uncle Sonny) and cousins resided. Patrice attended San Antonio public schools, where she participated in competitive swimming. Later Patrice moved to Houston, Texas to live where she finished high school at Jack Yates. She then took and completed courses for her LVN.
Patrice was a LVN and a caregiver to several elderly ladies during her work career. She participated in many trail rides to include the annual trail ride that proceeded the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo as a member of the O’ Boy Riding Club of Houston and Onyx Riding Club. Her favorite horses were Dama and Lucky. Lastly, Pat was an active member of the Funtastic Red Hats, Chapter of the Red Hats Society.
Patrice was preceded in death by both parents William Sampson Anderson and Remona Woodson Cheeks, daughter Erica Brown, grandparents Grady Woodson Sr, Rosezena Woodson (Mama Rosezena), Uncle Sonny McGrew, Aunt Cassie McGrew. Also, two dogs Dudley and Deeohgee.
Patrice had four children Derrick, Devina, Erica (deceased) and Daydra “Toy”. She was a loving but tough mother that tried her best and did her best. She did what she thought was best for her children. It was not easy, but she had the loving support of Mama Rosezena, Aunt Cassie, her mother Remona and the rest of the family and friends of Weimar.
She leaves to cherish her memory her dear Uncle Grady Woodson Jr. (The Patriarch), his wife Aunt Frankie. Two siblings Marion Anderson and Kevin Anderson. A nephew Mathew Anderson, three children Derrick, Devina and Daydra. Daughter in-law LaLeta Anderson. And Twelve Grandchildren Rasheedah (29) Ameenah (27) Rashaad (26) Maryam (25) Sabirah (24) Xante (24) Nia (22) Aaliyah (20) Derrick II (20) Johan (18) Yah-Wali (17) and Domenick (13); and a host of cousins, family and friends. Lastly her dog Charlie.
