Lula B. Davis was born November 24, 1941, to Gussie and James Davis in La Grange, Texas. She attended Randolph High School in La Grange. At an early age she confessed her hope in Christ, when she joined and was baptized at St. James Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend James Caldwell.
Lula had four children, Jimmy C. Davis, Cynthia Davis, Tabitha Guyton, and Jerry Guyton. She was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 20, 2024, at 12:08 p.m. in Bastrop, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents, Gussie and James Davis and Lulbert and Jerry Grant, her son Jimmy Davis, daughter, Tabitha Guyton, sister, Estella Griffin, 3 brothers, James Davis, Jr., Alfred Davis and Charles Davis, 1 niece, Stacey Washington and 1 nephew, Charles Clinton Nealy.
Lula is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Davis, son, Jerry Guyton, sister, Gussie Nealy of Smithville, Texas, special granddaughter, April Guyton who cared for her until her passing. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relative, friends, and her daughter-in-law, Hazel Smith.
