Lillie Mae Johnson-Coleman was born on January 26, 1931 in Weimar, Texas to the late Lee Andrew Johnson and Bertha Nunn Johnson. She attended Weimar Colored School.
She confessed Christ at an early age, baptized at the river at St. Paul Baptist Church, then later she joined Agape Community Fellowship Church until her death.
She moved to Beaumont, Texas in 1951 where she was employed at National Linen Service for several years. In 1962 she moved to Houston where she worked for different companies, in 1970 she worked for the Houston Independent School District until she retired.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lee Andrew Johnson and Bertha Nunn Johnson, brothers, Andrew Lee, Joe Willie, Freddie, Eugene, L.J. and Willie James, sisters, Lois B. Campbell and Geraldine.
She leaves to cherish her memories: husband, Edward Coleman, daughter, Ruby Johnson-Knox (Kenneth), step-daughter, Helen Coleman and step-son, Stephen Coleman all of Houston, Texas, two grandchildren, Denise Knox and Kenneth Knox,II , step grandchild, Carl, two great grandchildren, Frank Baldwin and Kenisea Baldwin all of Houston, Texas, and two sisters-in-law of Shreveport, Louisiana. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.
