Leroy Williams, Sr. was born July 17, 1932, to Willie H. and Nannie B. Williams. He was the youngest of eight children. Leroy Accepted Christ at an early age and was a dedicated member of New Union Baptist Church in Flatonia, Texas.
He attended the public school in Flatonia and was a member of the Masonic Lodge for many years. He worked in the oil and gas industry for Scurlock and Ashland Oil Company, starting as a truck driver and later became a supervisor.
Leroy was united in Holy Matrimony to Willie B. (Godley) in August 1961 and to this union three children were born. She preceded him in death in 2007.
After retiring from the oil field, he loved relaxing, riding to the farm and spending time talking with his family and friends. He would give anyone the shirt off his back and was always eager to help someone in need.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, five brothers and two sisters,
Leroy leaves to cherish his memories, one loving and devoted son, Leroy Williams, Jr (Shirlette); two loving and devoted daughters, Dorothy (Jaime) and Sonya all of Flatonia, Texas. His three granddaughters, Ashleigh Henricksen (Kent) of Denver, Colorado, Chelsea Williams of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Taylor Williams of Denver, Colorado and one great-granddaughter, Hudson Henrickson. He is also survived by three step grandchildren, four step great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, Rosetta Loud and Sewilla Felder of San Antonio, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews and friend, Myrtle Johnson.
