Karl Williams Obituary

Karl Louis Williams was born on June 24, 1954, in Weimar, Texas, to the late Robert and Jewel Marie (Spann) Williams. He accepted Christ at an early age at Good Hope Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor M.B. Washington. Karl attended Karl Downs Elementary School and later graduated from Weimar High School. After high school, he continued his education at Morden Barber College.

On June 8, 1982, Karl met and married Marilyn Mills. Their union was blessed with one son, Allen Dwayne Williams, and he lovingly embraced two stepsons, Rev. Dennis Russell and Cecil Russell. Karl and Marilyn made their home in Schulenburg, Texas, where he resided until his passing.

Karl was employed with Cady Construction Company from 1974 to 1994 and later dedicated thirty-one years of service to M-G Feed Store. He was a faithful member and deacon of Greater Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church under Pastor Jarvis Nelson.

Karl was known for his warm personality and kind spirit. He found joy in spending time with family and friends and had a passion for farming and cutting hair.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Jewel Williams; his son, Allen Dwayne Williams; and his niece, Amanda Williams.

Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife, Marilyn; his stepsons, Rev. Dennis Russell and wife DeShell of Houston, Texas, and Cecil Russell of Schulenburg, Texas; his sister, Helen Mims of Houston, Texas; his brothers, Perry Williams and Robert G. Williams, both of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; his uncle, Phillip Williams and wife Evelyn of Weimar, Texas; two aunts, Gladys Woodson of Katy, Texas, and Mable Harris of Weimar, Texas; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
