THE INNER SIDE OF
QUEEN JOYCE
On July 28, 1966, a beautiful baby girl was born to Horace and Dorothy Rhodes, they named her Joyce Marie Rhodes also known as (Tolly). She was born and raised in Weimar, Texas. She took her heavenly flight home on Wednesday May 15th, 2024, into the loving arms of God.
She confessed to Christ at an early age at Mt. Arie Baptist Church. Later she united with New Beginning Fellowship Church under the presiding Pastor Danny Henderson, until her passing. Joyce attended Weimar High School where she was a great athlete in basketball. She graduated in the class of 1985. Joyce had many roles in her life; she was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend. She has always been a hard-working woman. Joyce worked on her job at Utex for over 20 years until her death.
She was preceded in death by both parents, grandparents, Joe and Marie Bremby, paternal grandmother, Mary White, uncle, Joe Bremby, aunt, Joyce Jones, brother, Curtis Bremby, nephew, Shermaine Scott and a special cousin/friend, Pam Johnson.
She leaves to cherish her memory: two daughters, Alana Rhodes and Janiyah Cooper and two granddaughters, Skylar and Tyrianna Rhodes. Joyce also leaves behind seven sisters, Judy Rhodes, Camilla Bremby, Darlene Rhodes, Cheryl Rhodes, Karen Rhodes, Rebecca Rhodes, and DeShunda Almedia. Her nieces and nephews, Marquis Rhodes, Whitney Bremby, Artasis Carter, Marcus (Kimberly) Rhodes, JaCorey (Brittane) Rhodes, Matthew Rhodes, Chardae Rhodes, Deion Rhodes, Shakira Carter, D'Quane Rhodes, Brianna Rhodes, Summer Almedia, Joy Rhodes, JaCobi Rhodes, Faith Thomas, and Jaliah Rhodes. Two aunts, Charles Ann Smith and Gladys Debose, both of Houston, Texas, one uncle, James (Joyce) Bremby of Houston, Texas and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and her riding buddy, Paul Williams.
