OBITUARY
Johnnie Davis was born on March 7, 1919, to Sam Davis and Pearl Thomas, in LaGrange, TX.
He professed a hope in Christ at an early age and gave his life to Christ very willingly. He was in the United States Army, where he actively served in World War II. He was a Mortician at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home, in Rockdale, TX, where he retired in 1984. After retirement, he loved being outdoors, mowing his lawn, watering his fruit trees, and telling many, many stories of his life to his grandchildren. His life was full of precious memories.
On December 6, 1947, he married Johnnie Ruth Sykes and to this union was born three sons and three daughters. Johnnie and Johnnie Ruth shared their lives together for 39 years.
Johnnie was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother, Elo, two sisters, Clema and Rubena; two sons, Howard (Bay) and Johnny (Bud), and one daughter, Janice; one great granddaughter, Ashlee.
He was called home on July 15, 2022.
He leaves to cherish his wonderful memories: his children; Sam (Belinda), Ruth Elaine, Patricia, and Sherquero (Dadrian). His grandchildren; Roderick, Alicia, Cedric, Shaila (Alphonso), Brian, Chase, Winston, Raven (Cedric), Jackie, Terance (Miranda), and Keanu. Great grandchildren; Cameron, Brandon, Dylan, Kyle, Dadrian Jr., Kailee, Wynter, TeAveion, Nathan, and Sydney.
