Ivory Earl Thomas was born on July 7, 1952, in Schulenburg, Texas, to the late Maxine (Viser) Jackson and Simon Mitchell Sr. He received his education in the Schulenburg school system and was employed by Schulenburg Industries and Utex Industries.
In his younger years, Ivory moved to Houston, Texas, where he attended church with his extended family. He had a special love for his Corvette and his blue Chevy/Ford truck. In 2023, he returned home to Schulenburg to be near his family, sharing many laughs and cherished moments filled with love.
Ivory leaves to cherish his memory seven sisters: Marilyn Williams, Sharon Bacon, Rosa Green, Debra Williams, and Stephine Jackson, all of Schulenburg, Texas; and Alonia Mitchell and Sandra Mitchell of Houston, Texas. He is also survived by three brothers: Clyde Jackson (Kelly) of Schulenburg, Texas; Simon Mitchell Jr. of Houston, Texas; and Rickey Mitchell of Hallettsville, Texas; one uncle, Troy Houston of Schulenburg, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
