On July 16, 1961, a baby boy was born to Richard Booker, Sr. and Vera Bryant Booker. They named him Gerald Bernard Booker. Gerald confessed to Christ at an early age. and was baptized under the leadership of Reverend Brown at the First Church of The Nazarene in Columbus, Texas.
​Gerald received his education through the Columbus ISD and El Campo ISD. He was a very avid sports fan. His favorite sport was basketball, his favorite pastime was fishing.
Gerald was called home to be with the Lord on Monday morning, April 25, 2022, with his sister by his side. He was greeted at Heaven's Gate by his parents: Richard Booker, Sr. and Vera Booker, three sisters: Hennie Beatrice Gary, Susie Marie Haynes and LeighAnn Bingham. Three brothers: Richard Booker, Jr. Joe Bennet Booker and Tommy Lee Booker.
He leaves to cherish his memories his four sisters, Leola Scott of Columbus, TX,, Thelma Hurd (Connie) and Bessie Garner both of Rosenberg, TX and Cynthia Johnson (Darrel) of San Antonio, TX. Stepsisters: Dorothy Field and Glenda Courtney both of Houston, TX. Stepbrother: Johnny Courtney, Jr. of Houston, TX and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended relatives.
