Mother Georgetta Patterson was the third born to George Homer Thompson and Katie Johnson Thompson on January 25, 1938 in Itasca, Texas. Mother Patterson grew up in the Dale Community. She married the late Melvin Elison and to that union five girls were born. Later she married Elder Charles Patterson that preceded her in death. She and the late Elder Charles Patterson were blessed to share over 39 years together. To that union five children were born, three girls and two boys. Mother Patterson also raised five of her grandchildren. She came from humble beginnings and was proud of her upbringings. However she knew what it took to care for her family. She was a country girl that didn't mind working hard. Proverbs 31:10 woman describes Mother Patterson, as she had 6 am prayer with her family for years. She was an entrepreneur, cook and baker. She would often testify that while she was cooking and baking the Lord would give her messages for the saints. One of her favorite scriptures was Psalms 15:1-5. Through her steadfast teaching and work in the ministry she raised and cultivated in the family; a superintendent, a pastor, five licensed missionaries and one deacon. Without a doubt she loved her family, each child and grandchild felt special when in her presence.
Mother Patterson attended the Dale Public Schools. As a young girl she had dreams of being a school teacher. The Lord expanded upon that desire and blessed her to teach for him. She was a phenomenal and well sought after teacher of the gospel. She taught by precept and example . She was saved and filled with the holy ghost at a young age at the Dale COGIC.
