George Raymond Woolen, Jr. was born in La Grange, Texas to Jurline and George Raymond Woolen, Sr. on August 23, 1965. After graduating from Hamilton High School in Los Angeles, California, he attended the Los Angeles Trade-Technical College. George shared a passion for art along with his mother. He joined the family's custom framing and art business, where he worked until his mother's untimely passing. After closing the family business, George returned to Texas working for Smithville and La Grange Independent School Districts as a School Bus Operator and Technician. He was a hardworking and dedicated individual who took great pride in his work.
George was known for his kind and generous nature. He had a heart of gold and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He loved sports, fishing and never shied away from a good political debate, which he inherited from his mother. He will be remembered for his kindness and unwavering love for his family. He loved life and will be forever missed.
George was preceded in death by his father, George Raymond Woolen, Sr.; mother, Jurline Woolen; grandparents, Floyd Homer and Ola Mae Homer; uncles, Jimmie Lee Homer, Sr., R. L. Homer, Edward Homer and Aunt Maxine Thomas.
George is survived by his loving sister, Lolita Homer; aunts Dorothy Carlton, Brenda Henderson, Debra Scott (Bennie), Flora Toliver (Leroy) and Ruth Homer; uncles, Riley Homer (Robbie), Cordell Homer (Queenester), Emmitt Homer and a host of close cousins, family and friends.
