Gabriel Ramirez Obituary

In Loving Memory

Gabriel Jordan Ramirez

With heavy hearts but solid faith, we announce the passing of our beloved Jordan Ramirez, age 18, of Hallettsville, Texas, who went home to be with the Lord on Good Friday, April 18, 2025.

Jordan was a bright and adventurous soul, and he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior.  We rest in the promise that he is now eternally healed in the arms of our Heavenly Father.

Born on October 5, 2006, Jordan was a cherished son, brother, grandson, cousin, nephew, and friend. A proud student just weeks away from graduating high school, he had recently been honored with the Bell Award — a testament to his quiet strength, character, and the positive impact he had on those around him.

Jordan worked at Hoffer's Drive-In for nearly three years, where his kindness, dependability, and quick wit made him a favorite among coworkers and customers alike. He had a deep love for history and an admiration for old muscle cars, tractors, and anything that moved fast — just like him. Whether he was diving into the waves of the Gulf of Mexico with a laugh, or jumping into the waters at McKinney Falls before anyone could blink, Jordan embraced life boldly and on his own terms.

He found joy in the simple things — riding into town with his Granny, playing X-Box and PlayStation, receiving money as gifts like all teenagers do, and enjoying his favorite treats like snickers and brownies. He was also a wonderful little brother who loved to give his sister a hard time — just because he could — and he did it with a playful heart that made everyone laugh.

Jordan is survived by his loving mother, Joslyn Williams, of Hallettsville, Texas; his father, Gabriel Ramirez, of Victoria, Texas; his devoted sister, Cayla Kehoe, of Tacoma, Washington; his uncles, Justin Williams, of Hallettsville; and Alex Ervin, also of Hallettsville; his grandfather, Rev. Terrell Ervin and wife, Michelle, of Hallettsville and his treasured great-grandmother, Alvera Williams, of Hallettsville, Texas.

Jordan is also survived by his great aunts, Melvyn Batise (Michael), of Katy, Texas; Sheila Perkins, of Hallettsville, Texas; Pastors Peggy Pohl (Alton), of Hallettsville, Texas; Tracye Ervin, of  Spring, Texas; Rosia Ervin, of Austin, Texas.  Numerous great uncles, Clarence Williams, Jr. (Debra), of Victoria, Texas; Charles Williams, of Manchaca, Texas; James Williams (Iris), of Mattersburg, Austria; Rev. James Fowler, of Victoria, Texas; Carl Ervin (Kristy), of Vandyke, Texas; and, the Ramirez family, who will keep him close to their hearts.

He will also be deeply missed by a host of extended family, cousins, and friends, as well as a school and community that will carry his memory forward with honor and love.

Jordan is preceded in death by his grandmother, Ms. Helene Williams; his great-grandfather, Clarence Williams, Sr.; his great-grandparents, Leon and Claytonia Ervin; his great-uncles, Leonard Perkins, Sr., (Booney); and Kirk Ervin (Scrappy); and his great-aunt, Valerie Fowler.

Loved ones will come together to pay tribute to Jordan’s life on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at The Eason Building – God’s Worship Center, 407 S. Dowling, Hallettsville, Texas. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Burial and a time of fellowship will immediately follow the service at Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church, E Highway 90A, Hallettsville, Texas 77964.

As we grieve this profound and unimaginable loss, we lean on the strength of the Holy Spirit, trusting that Jordan’s story did not end here — it began again in Glory. We know the Lord has healed him in full, and while our hearts ache, our hope remains.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
 – Psalm 34:18
