Gabriel Almeida

Gabriel departed from this earthly life at the age of 69 years, 3 months and 13 days on July 5, 2023, with his family by his side.

Gabriel was born on March 22, 1954, in Galveston, Texas. He was the first child of Delores Greene Almeida and Edward J. Almeida.

During his early childhood he attended school in Galveston and Houston. He later attended Weimar High School and graduated with the Class of 1972. He joined the US Army at the age of 18. Gabriel was hardworking and devoted family man. He worked most of his life for the Union Pacific Railroad. He retired after 44 years of service. Gabriel loved his family and was always caring and giving to all. He had a passion for music, collecting baseball cards, Hot Wheels, Beanie Babies, coins and trains.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Rodney Jones and great grandparents, Ida and Jessie Greene.

Gabriel leaves behind his devoted wife, Emma Steward Almeida; four sons, Rex (Angie) Almeida, Tennille (Brenda) Almeida, Davondre (Alexis) Almeida and Kededran Almeida; two daughters, Olivia & Sienna Almeida; two brothers, Antonio (Dee) Almeida and Darryl (Mariah) Almeida; three sisters, Marcella Fonteno, Lolita Ali and Yvette Almeida; three brothers-in-law, Gene Hasty, Sylvester (Nellie) Scott and James Steward; three aunts, Ava Guy, Louwane Almeida and Lorretta Fernandes Almeida; one uncle, Donald Greene; six grandchildren, Rodney Jones, Ryan Jones, Jalen Almeida, Juwan Almedia Jacob Soto and Erica Hearn; special nieces, Delores Almeida, Alicia Eaton and Keyana White and daughter-in-law, Valerie Martinez Jones.
