Fritz Ford was born January 28, 1950, in La Grange, Texas to the late James Johnson, adopted mother Delphine Ford , birth mother, Bertha Mae Wilkerson. He was born and raised in La Grange, Texas and attended Randolph High School ,where he graduated.
He moved to Houston, Texas , working at Weingarten Grocery Store and Ben Taub Hospital. after moving back to his home town he was employed by Monument Hill and Care Inn Nursing Homes. Fritz was loved by everyone. He was a very kind-hearted person who loved people, loved to laugh and loved to listen to the blues and gospel music. In his earlier years he played in a band, where he played piano and guitar. He was all about family and friends, He shared love and kindness to every person he met.
Fritz was preceded in death by his father, James Johnson; mothers, Delphine Ford and Bertha Mae Wilkerson; brothers, Rufus Johnson, Edward Lee Wilkerson and sister, Cynthia Kay Wilkerson.
Fritz Ford leaves to cherish his memories: Daughters: Yowanda Ford-Colquitt and husband Cedric Colquitt; Bridgett Ford; Grandchildren: Dante' Ford and Cristian Carter; Sisters: Lizzie Mitchell, Wilma Shelton, Ollestean Daniel, and JoAnn Lawrence. Brothers: Herbert Johnson, Eddie Johnson, Eddie Buffin, Fletcher Johnson and Arthur Johnson and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
