A TIME TO BE BORN

Eugene McLaughlin was born May 30, 1952, in Harris County to Eugene McLaughlin Sr and Mercy Dee Fenix. He was the oldest child of three born to this union.

A TIME TO LIVE

(ISIAH 38:16)

Eugene was baptized at Greater Macedonia Baptist Church (Houston) at an early age in life.  Alongside his family, he joined New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church where he was serving as a Deacon, singing in Men’s Choir and on various Committees. He later moved his membership to St James Missionary Baptist Church and remained faithful until his departure.

May 11, 1974, he married Ruth Jones (Cupcake) and had two children. During their marriage in Houston, Eugene worked at Fiberglass Technologies and later moved to LaGrange after the birth of their second child. He was hired at Cal-Maine and worked there for 37 years as a machine operator.

Sadly, after his battle with cancer he passed away January 19, 2023. He is preceded in death by his Father Eugene McLaughlin Sr, Brother Greg McLaughlin, Sister Charlene Henderson and Son Theopolis Henderson.

Eugene leaves in God's care to celebrate his memories, his devoted wife Ruth Jones McLaughlin, Mother: Mercy Dee Fenix McLaughlin , Sister: Latrell Smallwood (Anthony); Two Daughters: Rouslyn McLaughlin and Marla (Peaches) McLaughlin; Three grandchildren: Zariya Ross, Zaniyah Ross and Caiden Lewis; Five Sisters in Love: Marion Fenix (Ricky), Rose Brimmer (Leo), Barbara Wicks, Esther McLaughlin (Greg) and Lucy Pickette; Brother in Love Austin Jones (JoAnn); as well as a host nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
