Errol Ronzelle Jones, Sr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and cousin was the youngest child born to Willis and Cleon Jones in Weimar, TX. Known by those close to him as “Ronzelle” was called from Earth’s to Heaven’s reward on Tuesday, September 28, 2021.
At an early age Ronzelle joined and was baptized at St. James African Methodist Episcopal Church in Weimar where he remained a faithful and active member until he was called home. Ronzelle was delighted to be a part of “Four Deep” cooking team with his friends and brothers in Christ.
Ronzelle graduated from Weimar High School as part of the Class of 1978 where he was an all-around athlete, and he earned a football scholarship to Texas A & I Kingsville. Ronzelle was a top-notch and experienced truck driver for over 35 years.
On November 20, 1989, Ronzelle wed Marilyn Williams, they were devoted to each other for over 31 years of marriage. Ronzelle leaves a lifetime of memories with his family two sons: Errol “EJ” (Amber) Jones of Flatonia, TX, and Brent “BJ” (Brittney) Jones of Weimar, TX; four daughters Lana Blanks (Jarvis Vaughns) of Katy, TX, Ebony (Irving) Williams of Richmond, TX, Brandi (Artrell) Perry of Houston, TX, and Dora Lara of San Antonio, TX.
Ronzelle had a great passion for grilling and dubbed himself “The Grill Master.” Ronzelle also enjoyed fishing, golfing, camping out, trailriding, dancing, and of course entertaining family and friends. Ronzelle was a warm loving spirit and always willing to offer a helping hand.
Ronzelle was a doting and immensely proud grandfather affectionately known as “PawPaw” to his grandchildren: Jazz, Jade, and Jordan Garza, Jadon Blanks; Reagan and Carter Vaughns; Easton Errol Jones; Artrell Jr. and Joshua Perry; Jace Upson, Jah’Bri Whitmore; Valerie and Joey Ramirez, Cheyenne and Cadyn Booker. Ronzelle recently became a great-grandfather to Kozzi Walker.
Ronzelle is proceeded in death by his parents; daughter Chasity Blanks; siblings: Darrell Jones, Charles “Chic” Jones, Maurice Jones, Michael “Mike” Jones, Jacqueline Woodson, and Carl “Tim” Jones. Ronzelle is survived by his living siblings: Willie “Lucky” Jones and Patricia “Ann” Moore. In addition, Ronzelle is survived by his sisters-in-law: Ossie Jones, Alice Faye Jones and Blanche Jones. Ronzelle was truly loved and will be deeply missed by his devoted wife Marilyn Jones, daughters, sons, grandchildren, great-grandchild, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and host of family, and friends.
