Elisha Nathaniel Turner was born on April 4, 1991, in Austin, Texas, the second child of Bishop Phillip A. Turner and Janell Caldwell. He attended schools within the Austin Independent School District and graduated from Leander High School in 2009. Throughout his school years, Elisha eagerly participated in a variety of sports.
At the age of eight, Elisha accepted Christ at Peaceful Rest Baptist Church in La Grange, Texas, under the pastoral leadership of his father. In the years that followed, he continued his walk of faith, attending churches in the Austin area. From 2004 to 2005, he shared his musical talents by playing the drums at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Hallettsville, Texas.
Elisha was known for his vibrant personality and unique sense of humor. A natural “comedian,” he loved making those around him laugh. He also had a deep love for music. Above all, his greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was being a devoted father to his three beloved children.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Sonny and Mattie Leonard; his grandparents, Willie and Vernice Piper Turner; and two uncles, Leon and Alexander Turner.
Elisha’s memory will forever be cherished by his children: his son, Carter Alan Manion of Lago Vista, Texas, and his daughters, Avaiah and Analicia Turner of Austin, Texas. He is also survived by his father, Bishop Phillip A. Turner of Yoakum, Texas; his mother, Janell (Ryan) Smith of Dallas, Texas; three brothers, Phillip Andrew (Ana) Turner of Belton, Texas, Bryant Turner of Austin, Texas, and Damian Wolfe; one sister, Audria Culliver; his step-grandfather, Eugene Hardeman; grandmother, Irene Hardeman; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
