Dominik Ashley Mendoza

Dominik Ashley Mendoza, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and tia, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on September 23, 2021, at the age of 37. Dominik was born in Gonzales, Texas on November 9, 1983 to Arthur and Sylvia Mendoza. Raised in Schulenburg, Texas, Dominik graduated from Schulenburg High School, where she formed many life-long friendships. She then attended Blinn College in Schulenburg before moving to Austin to pursue a career in public service for the State of Texas in various agencies. While in Austin, she met her husband, Eric Brown. Together they welcomed their daughter Taylor in 2009. Taylor was the center of Dominik’s universe. The two of them shared countless conversations, laughs, and memories together. Dominik always wanted Taylor to be the best version of herself, and she was the first to support her in all avenues of life.

Dominik was known for her gorgeous smile and warm, loving spirit. Being the first born and only girl, Dominik knew she had a big role to play as the eldest sibling. She was always willing to offer a helping hand, and she was the first to share any words of advice to her younger brothers. Dominik prided herself in being the fun tia to all her nieces and nephew. She enjoyed spending time with her parents, whether it was having family time on the back patio, participating in barbeque cookoffs at local festivals, fishing on the family’s land, or going on a relaxing weekend get-a-way to Rockport, Texas.

Even though Dominik left us too soon, she will always be remembered by her hilarious sense of humor, big laugh, and even bigger heart. She lived life to the fullest and absolutely treasured those she loved. Anyone who was able to meet or spend time with Dominik knew that they were in the presence of a wonderful and caring person. She will forever be with us in our hearts and memories.

Dominik is survived by husband Eric Brown, daughter Taylor Brown; parents, Arthur and Sylvia Mendoza; younger brothers and their families, A.J Mendoza, wife Sara, and their children, Elizabeth, Andrew and Avery; Kevin Mendoza, wife Sarah, and their children, Kaymi and Jordan; and DeMarcos Mendoza.
