Cynthia Marie (Nunn) Bradley- Simples

Cynthia Marie Nunn Simples was born on November 25, 1957, in Houston, Texas, to the late Willie Mae and Frank Nunn Jr. As a young child, she was lovingly raised in Columbus, Texas, by her devoted grandparents, the late Willie and Annie Woods Haynes. During her years in Columbus, Cynthia was admired for both her intelligence and her beauty, earning numerous awards and recognition that reflected her bright spirit and determination. She later returned to Houston, where she graduated from Evan E. Worthing Sr. High School as a proud member of the Class of 1975.

Shortly after graduation, Cynthia married Earnest Bradley, and together they were blessed with two daughters, Athena and Chiquita Bradley. She later continued her education by attending classes at the University of Houston. Cynthia began her professional journey at Methodist Hospital in downtown Houston, where fate reunited her with a high school classmate, Danny Simples. Their friendship blossomed into love, and they were later married. Together they welcomed their daughter, Rebecca Simples (Mose), and through this union, Cynthia lovingly embraced Danny’s daughter, Denise Simples, as her own.

Cynthia later joined Heartland Healthcare, where she established a meaningful career as a dietitian. More than a profession, it became her calling. She possessed a compassionate heart and found genuine joy in caring for those who could no longer care for themselves and those who were often overlooked by others. She served with kindness, patience, and grace, never expecting recognition or anything in return. Her life was a beautiful reflection of selfless love and unwavering compassion.

Her nurturing spirit extended far beyond the workplace. Cynthia’s greatest joy was caring for her family, and one of the many ways she expressed her love was through her cooking. She was affectionately known as the family’s cook, filling both hearts and homes with delicious meals, laughter, and cherished memories. Her kitchen was a place of comfort, fellowship, and unconditional love, where everyone was always welcomed.

Above all, Cynthia loved the Lord. She was a faithful and devoted member of Bread of Life Christian Church in Houston, Texas, where she worshipped faithfully until her earthly journey came to an end.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Willie Mae and Frank Nunn Jr., and her brother, Leroy Lee.

She leaves behind a legacy of love that will forever be treasured by her siblings, Brenda Nunn, Timothy Payne, and Gladys Johnson; her devoted children, Denise Simples, Athena Bradley, Chiquita Bradley (Melissa), and Rebecca Mose (Jonathan); her cherished grandchildren, Ty, Tyra, Te’Leigh, Charlisia, Addison, Alyssa, Sean, Penelope, and Judah; her precious great-grandchildren, Za’Nova and Ziya; bonus sister Ledora Anderson, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were forever enriched by her kindness, generosity, and love.

Though she is no longer with us in body, Cynthia’s legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched through her compassion, her unwavering faith, her servant’s heart, and the unconditional love she so freely gave. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
