Clarence Outland was born on November 28, 1945, in Mobile, Alabama, to Clarissa and William H. Outland, Sr. He was the eldest of ten children. At an early age, Clarence relocated to Houston, Texas, where he would spend much of his life.
He received his formal education at Yates High School in Houston and graduated in 1963. Shortly after graduation, Clarence enlisted in the United States Army on May 29, 1963. He served honorably until April 20, 1966, when he was discharged with distinction.
In 1966, Clarence began his long career with the United States Postal Service, where he dedicated 34 years of service. On July 10, 1999, he married Brookshire Jackson. Together, they had one daughter, Diana.
Clarence was a devoted member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where he served faithfully as an ordained Deacon until his health declined. He was known for his strong work ethic, deep love for his family, and his passion for the Dallas Cowboys and sports cars.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, Clarissa and William H. Outland, Sr.; his sister, Dianne Outland; three brothers-in-law, John Corner, Thurman Johnson, and Sherman Jackson; and his nephew, William "Bucky" Outland.
