Clarence D. Denmon was born on May 14, 1937, to Florence and Morris Denmon. He accepted Christ at a young age. During his childhood, he attended school in Sidney, Nebraska; Corpus Christi, Texas; and the Center Union Community Schools. As a young man, he enlisted in the United States Navy, where he proudly served his country and traveled to many places. After his military service, he spent many years working for the U.S. Postal Service in Des Moines, Iowa. Clarence was a lifelong member of Center Union AME Church, where his mother, Reverend Florence Denmon, faithfully pastored for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Florence and Morris Denmon; his son, Cory Denmon; his former wife, Essie Short-Denmon; his great-aunts LC Willis and Fannie Starks; and his great-uncle, Ed Mclin. He was also preceded in death by several other beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
Left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Edee and Vanessa Denmon; his former wife, Dorothea Poe; two stepdaughters, Anissa Wagner and Michelle Bishop; a very special friend, Robert J. McIntyre; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
