Chester Utley Jr. was born on October 3, 1955, to Chester and Lela Mae Utley in Houston, Texas. He attended Worthing High School and later moved to Port Arthur, Texas, where he worked as a mechanic for the United States Postal Service.
Chester was a genuinely loving and caring person who enjoyed watching football and spending time with his family and friends. Later in life, his sister Patricia Bean relocated him to Schulenburg, Texas, where he loved living independently in his own apartment. As his health declined, he was placed in hospice care at Care Inn in La Grange, Texas.
On October 27, 2024, God called him home. He is survived by his two sons, Floyd Utley of Boston, Massachusetts, and Jahmyrion Phillips of Port Arthur, Texas; two sisters, Patricia Bean and Debra Jarrett of Weimar, Texas; one brother, William Utley of Houston, Texas; and one aunt, Eleanor Utley of Boston, Massachusetts. He is also remembered by two nieces, six nephews, and many great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
