Obituary

Celia Escobedo Stafford was born on September 27, 1947, in San Antonio, Texas to the late Maria (Mareno) Escobedo and Mateo Escobedo. She entered into eternal rest on June 11, 2023, at her home in Schulenburg, Texas. Celia was a dedicated wife, a strong Christian Soldier that always made herself available to do Kingdom work. Always doing her part willingly with or without help. Henceforth there is laid up for her a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, have given her and to all that love his appearing.

Be it also resolved that Celia Escobedo married Andrew Earl Stafford on October 20, 1978. To this union no children were born, but Celia and Andrew were proud to have the opportunity of helping to shape the life of their granddaughter, Jazmine Marie Cage.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mateo & Maria Mareno; Maternal grandparents, Bartola & Felicitas Soto; Paternal grandparents, Antonio & Josefina Garza-Escobedo; Sisters, Erminia Carrasco & Juanita Escobedo; Sister-in-law, Jesusa Escobedo; Brothers-in-law, Salvador De La Garza and Manuel D. Hernandez.

​​Celia leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Andrew Earl Stafford, along with a special grandchild, Jazmine and a special bond with Regina, Angela and Michael. Her brother, Guadalupe Escobedo. Her sisters, Enriqueta Hernandez and Irene De La Garza; Brother-in-law, Clifford Gene Stafford, and she is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, Gabrielle, Vanessa, Matthew Stafford, Raymond Cage, Jr. and Corveilas Cage, to whom she is known as "TATA."
