Life Journey
Carolyn Braimah was the oldest born child to the loving union of Leeland and Betty Jackson on May 30, 1955 in Houston, TX. She shared many childhood memories with her siblings, until she became a young mother of her own and set off to begin her very own life's journey. Carolyn received her education through the Houston Independent School District and was a graduate of Lamar High School. She furthered her education in the study of Business Administration at the Texas Woman's University. As a young woman her first passion was in the field of Cosmetology. She received her license and for many years was known as a creative hair stylist to many of her clients. After relocating to Tulsa, OK with her 2 loving children, (Morris and Michelle), she studied finance at the University of Oklahoma. Once her children were older, she later relocated and became a resident of Dallas, TX where she pursued her career in mortgage financing for many years until she retired and returned back home to Houston, to be close to her family. Carolyn accepted Christ at an early age and believed strongly in her faith. She loved God whole heartedly and carried the scriptures of the bible in her heart throughout her her journey in this life.
The beautiful sights of foreign places and unfamiliar roads brought great joy to Carolyn as she was known to her family as a traveler, she loved to "Get up and hit the road" making sure to stop along the way to admire the sights and beautiful scenery of all the beautiful places she traveled to. She was also an international traveler, she found her way to the white sand beaches of Jamaica and she even visited and admired the beautiful sights of West Africa in which she loved and embraced the culture. Carolyn found great happiness in her personal hobbies such as writing short stories and screenplays in her free time. It was her personal gift to her loved ones to create and cook beautiful dishes for family gatherings and special holidays that we all enjoyed. She would stay in the kitchen to make sure that each of us had something special that we liked on the dinner table that she made from the heart. Her cooking was a blessing that will greatly be missed during the holidays and special occasions. Of all of these wonderful things, nothing made her happier than spending time with her family, and most of all her grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she deeply loved.
