Our beloved Bernice Griffin was born December 20, 1932 to the union of Nathaniel and Gracie East of La Grange, Texas. She attended Fayette County Schools and she accepted Christ at an early age.
Bernice married Ernest Lee Griffin of Plum, Texas and together they later relocated and became longtime residents of the widely known Greater Third Ward Community of Houston, Texas where they shared many joys of life and challenges in their life together. Throughout her life, she pursued various jobs, but her passion was in the field of home healthcare where she worked happily until she retired to be a loving house wife. Bernice was a faithful member of Wesley Chapel AME Church until her health began to decline.
On May 26, 2021 Bernice transitioned her earthly life for eternal life and went on to be with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ernest Lee Griffin, son Ray Charles Rainey and in loving memory of her eight sisters and one brother. She leaves to cherish one remaining sister Margaret Adams of Schulenburg, Texas and a host of loving nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends, Bernice will be missed by all of us who loved and knew her.
