Beatrice Bratcher Obituary

Beatrice Johnson Bratcher was born on January 17, 1954 in Glidden, TX, the oldest child of Lavo Binkley Jr and Juanita Wright during their union. She acknowledged Christ as her personal savior when she was a very young lady and became a member(s) of Olive Branch Baptist Church and Greater Smith Baptist Church. Later she attended and participated at Zoe Christian Freedom Church under the auspices of Rev. Dan Pore.

Affectionately called, “Lucy Mae” and “Ms. B” by those who knew and loved her, she attended Columbus High School. She was employed at Parkview Manor Nursing Home as a full-time kitchen aid for 15+ years and worked part-time at numerous local tri-counties nursing homes.  She later pursed her passion of caring for younger children and the elderly as well as performed residential/commercial janitorial services. She was a hard worker and provided excellent care to every client she babysits and/or care given for.  Her motto was, ‘Do your best in what you can, while you can, and you will reap what you sow.’ She remained dedicated in any job opportunities that came her way until her health began to decline.

Beatrice Johnson Bratcher had four children from previous marriage/relationship: Calvin Binkley, Rodney Johnson Sr., Stefanie Tamez and Tiffany Johnson. She later met and married Leon Bratcher Sr. and became stepmother to Leah Watkins and Leon Bratcher Jr.

On Friday, February 11, 2022, Beatrice Johnson Bratcher delighted in the Lord and received the call to come home and be with Him. She was preceded in transition by her parents, her former spouse, Joe Johnson Jr., father of her children, her oldest son, Staff Sergeant Calvin Binkley, brother-n-law, L.J. Johnson Sr., and sister-n-law, Vada Binkley.
